EcoDev Agro Fibers
Welcome on the website of EcoDev Agro Fibers Sp z.oo a new Company that will be setup in Poland and is going to produce various agro products. The objective of the company is to develop profitable, ecological products which are competitive for traditional and unsustainable products. There are many organizations that produce or sell sustainable products. We will distinguish ourselves by producing and selling those products that are making no concessions to quality and will not be more expensive than regular unsustainable products. Instead our products will be of better quality and more or equally profitable. Something we also tried to express in the name of the company "EcoDev". Dev for development and Eco for Ecological and Economical in one word united : Ecological / Economical Development.
The main products we are going to produce are straw board for the building industry and hemp fibers as technical fibers and as raw for textiles. EcoDev Agro Fibers will grow its own hemp plants to be sure of a continue availability of the material for the end products and independency of external supply.
With the straw board we’ll offer the building industry a qualitative high performing and very competitive alternative for traditional flooring, walling and roofing materials. Not only is the material about half the price of most other traditional products but also the installing expenses will drop dramatically. To install a straw board wall one can use uneducated labor. The installing time is just a tenth of the time needed to install the same surface with bricks. Beside financial advances, straw board has a negative carbon footprint. Straw board exists of only organic materials. The binder that holds the panel together has already been part of the plant before production.
Hemp fibers are as strong as nylon and very durable therefore it is a competitive product for glass fibers in polymers and cotton and other fibers in the textile industry. The growth of hemp does not need pesticides for the plant has almost no natural enemies or illnesses. Therefore the production of hemp fibers has a negative carbon footprint.
Hemp is growing on poor grounds and is resistant against cold climates. The plant grows fast to 4 meters high. At the moment new techniques allow us to produce fibers as thin as cotton fibers or even thinner and therefore are useable as main or only fiber in the production of cloths and other textiles.
Because of its durability it would even be useable for carpets. Cotton, the main competitive material for the textile industry, is a very sensitive plant and needs a lot of pesticides and water. The production of cotton pollutes and dries up the environment dramatically and is more expensive then the production of hemp. Hemp fibers are produced from the bark of the hemp stem. As a result of the fact that Hemp also produces seeds that are usable for the production of edible oil and flour and the fact that Hemp ![]()
grows on poor grounds, the growing of hemp does not have a negative effect on the food production. Instade it has in fact a possitive effect as other food generating plants wouldn't grow on those poor grounds.
Oil from hemp seeds is usable as alternative for diesel, consumption oils and oils to produce polymers.
The rest material after pressing oil from the seats maybe used to produce flour.
Litter will be produced from the wooden core of the stalk in the same process as the hemp fibers.
In the future we’ll produce strawboard from hemp. Hemp has extraordinary insulation capabilities is light and much stronger then straw. The board will than no longer be made of straw which is why we will call it Hemp Fiber Board.
